Cancer Alternative Treatments - Try the Sun

May 31st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in cancer

Cancer is probably everyone’s biggest fear. If you’re like me, every time you have a lump or bump or any unusual pain, this is the first thing that pops into your mind and you imagine the worst. It is likely that whatever problem you have is probably not going to turn out to be anything serious, but for those that are actually diagnosed with this dread disease, you may be looking for cancer alternative treatments in order to avoid the harsh toxins of traditional chemotherapy.

If you begin searching, you will find many natural therapies that are used along with a number of holistic treatments. One thing that many people do not realize is the sun itself can help you avoid cancer, or once diagnosed, can help you heal. For many many years, everyone has heard over and over to “protect yourself from the sun,” use sunscreen, don’t stay outside too long, and avoid ultraviolet rays. However, studies are beginning to show that just the opposite is true! What only a few people have realized is the fact that the sun is actually beneficial. In truth, it is vitally needed! The ultraviolet rays, long thought to be harmful, actually cause the skin to produce vitamin D which is very important for protecting against and treating many types of cancers.

Now, you may say, “Well, I take a synthetic vitamin D supplement,” but these can actually pose a danger in themselves. The best and safest way to supply your body with this vitamin is through natural sunshine without using sunscreen.

What about skin cancer? Studies indicate that since this is one of the least deadly cancers, it is worth the small risk to avoid the deadlier versions.

So if you are looking for safe cancer alternative treatments, try taking a break from the computer screen and going outside for about 15 minutes every day, or if that is not possible, at least 3 to 4 times a week, and you will reap the benefits of vitamin D, the natural cancer fighter. But remember that it is still important to avoid burning, however, so if you are going to be outside for an extended period of time (hours), you may want to apply a sunscreen.

Oxygen And Cancer

May 31st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in cancer

Several years ago I was taken to the hospital with horrific stomach pain. Within an hour of arriving at the hospital, I was in the operating room having my gall bladder taken out. That is not a major surgical procedure inasmuch as it is done with just a couple of small incisions. Normally you go home the next day. I was there for 9 days.

The problem was they couldn’t get my oxygen up to a safe level. When I left the hospital I didn’t give it much thought. I thought it was a minor and temporary condition.

A few years later I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Again, the hospital had to keep me hooked up to oxygen throughout my treatment and recovery. When I returned home after 32 consecutive days in the hospital, my surgical wounds would not heal. I had the Visiting Nurses coming to my house twice a day for about a year. The nurses tested my oxygen level twice a day and expressed concern. I was told the low level of oxygen was a factor in my surgical wounds not healing.

I discovered that an insufficient level of oxygen in the blood is called hypoxia. It prevents the blood from being adequately oxygenated. If the condition worsens to the total absence of oxygen, it is called anoxia. This condition is serious; it kills healthy cells and can cause death. You don’t have to have a medical degree to know that without oxygen, you die.

I could not understand why my oxygen level kept dropping down. I was breathing, and air contains oxygen. I was drinking water (H20), and that’s one part oxygen. So I did some research. The air we breathe today has far more pollutants than the air people breathed before the birth of the industrial revolution. The water we drink is not as pure as the water our ancestors drank.

Ed McCabe, author of “Flood Your Body with Oxygen”, brings this into clear focus:”By breathing, we are constantly taking unnatural, non-food substances into our bodies”

I discovered, from my personal experience and from my research, that we may not be getting enough oxygen. I also discovered that oxygen is a nutrient. I discovered that my oxygen deficiency was a factor in my cancer.

Here are some of the things my research revealed:

The planet’s quality of oxygen is declining. Researchers have documented that the oxygen in today’s environment is as much as one-third less than in ancient times.

Dr. W. Spencer Way writes in the Journal of the American Association of Physicians, “Insufficient oxygen means insufficient biological energy that can result in anything from mild fatigue to life-threatening disease.”

Dr. Otto Warburg, recipient of two Nobel prizes in Medicine, referred to oxygen as “a vital cell detoxifier,” and pointed to oxygen deficiency as the underlying cause of degenerative diseases and ultimately the death of the cell.

Thankfully, the world’s population is becoming aware of the health hazards we are breathing. We are making progress with alternative energy, hybrid cars, and fewer chemicals in many of the products we consume.

We need to do our part in protecting the environment. Equally important, we need to be conscious of our own oxygen level. Talk with your health care provider and be certain you are getting a sufficient supply of vitamins, minerals and nutrients. Remember, oxygen is a nutrient.

Iron is a nutrient that is needed to make hemoglobin which is the oxygen-carrying component of red blood cells. Some foods that will help are leafy green vegetables, salmon, tuna, and dark poultry. They all are iron rich foods and will help increase oxygen.

A Cancer Survivor Story - Choose One Doctor

May 31st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in cancer

Dr. Nicholas Gonzales is an immunologist trained at Sloane Kettering; he is one is one of the few doctors having success with pancreatic cancer and other zero percent survival cases. One of the rules I got from Dr. Nicholas Gonzales was to stay with one treatment protocol and doctor for a specific amount of time and be careful of jumping from one doctor to the next.

When it comes to cancer you can get panicked if you think something isn’t working instead of drawing no conclusions. If you are going to do an alternative protocol or even a conventional one, set a certain goal as to how long you are going to give it and what you except to achieve. For instance, “I will give this herbal protocol 6 weeks and I want to see at least a fifty percent reduction of the tumor.” Then when that goal is met you set a new one and if it’s not met-then you re-evaluate and explore other options.

In my healing journey this was the exact approach I created. I decided to give the herbal program 3 months with Donnie Yance. As long as I didn’t see any dramatic change for the worse. Of course, in certain protocols this can happen-things gets worse before they get better-but they are usually short-lived. I questioned Donnie very candidly about his belief that he could cure my cancer-he felt he could.

I have seen clients with seriousness illnesses jump from one protocol to the other and this really doesn’t serve you. But when it comes to a life threatening illness you, of course, get scared-you don’t want to die, you don’t want to be in more pain so you get caught up in your fears. And sometimes those fears can be sparked or fueled by people who are close to you, who might not believe totally in what you are doing, who are naturally scared of losing you. Take this as an oprtunitity to work on your boundaries with friends and family and examine if you are really communicating your needs to them without making them wrong.

When you decide to undertake a protocol, do it 100%! Alternative protocols in general have certain diet requirements-follow them as best you can to the letter. In retrospect, despite my diligence around diet, I think I could have done better. I could have ratcheted it up another notch. Like going on all juice and raw food diet. But there are many different approaches to diet. I would strongly suggest finding an alternative doctor that has specific ideas about diet and specific written diet plans they want you to follow. If they don’t you might question their thoroughness.

And also, a note on diet, even if you buy organic food, I would go the extra step and clean it with hydrogen peroxide or Clorox. Organic food can become contamaintated on its way to market. You will find more about this cleaning protocol in the book, Living Better Longer, about the work of Dr. Hazel Parcels.

In conclusion, stay with one doctor for a set amount of time, set goals and when they are met or not met, then re-evaluate. Don’t get caught up in the conversation of how you are doing. Written goals can support this not happening. Of course, if the cancer takes a dramatic wrong turn, then that’s time to re-evaluate.

Stay objective but always in your intuition. And learn to know when it’s your intuition and not your fears. This is part of the healing. Every small or large challenge emotionally is another chance to heal. How you are going about healing is a healing in of itself.

Natural Cancer Cures

May 31st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in cancer

As our lives become more and more stressful, and our food less and less nutritious, cancer seems to be increasing and many people are suffering as a result. Traditional cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy can be very harsh and often tend to make people even sicker, so what can be done to help cure cancer?

Ozone Therapy

A number of cancer patients have had successful results using ozone therapy. Ozone is a pure form of oxygen and can be used in a number of different forms including bubbling ozone into your bath water and absorbing it through the skin, using ozone capsules or droplets, breathing in ozonated air, drinking ozonated water, etc.

Glyconutrients

Glyconutrients have only recently started being taught by the medical profession and included in medical literature and they can be useful in helping to relieve symptoms of chemotherapy and radiation therapy and in making these treatments more effective. They assist improved communication between the cells which also benefits the immune system.

Diet Therapy

Our diets play a huge role in the development of cancer and much of our food today contains carcinogenic substances. By eliminating junk and sugary foods from our diet and focusing on raw foods and juices we can help to prevent and cure cancer naturally.

Green Tea

A number of research studies have been done into the use of green tea and its use for cancer and researchers have found that some of the compounds in green tea help to reduce the growth of cancer cells.

It is important that you seek professional medical advice if you are suffering from cancer and follow the program that they develop for you and speak to them about these alternate treatments. All of these traditional treatments however can be used in addition to traditional methods and may even help to make them more effective.

Your Spouse Has Been Diagnosed With Cancer - Getting Through The First Few Days

May 31st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in cancer

The first few days after the diagnosis of your loved one are the most confusing times of all. You are operating on limited information, and you are both in shock. Questions abound. Give yourself some time to adjust. Here are some recommendations compiled by myself, and others that will help you get through the first few days.

Acknowledge the News

Don’t try to act as if nothing is happening. This is a crisis and your lives will change. Give yourself some slack. You may consider taking off work for a few days to get your breath back or cancel routine plans.

Communication

You don’t have to tell anyone right away. Give yourselves a chance to digest this information without worrying about how to share the information with others or worry about what their reactions may be. There will be plenty of time to deal with this later. If you decide to tell friends and family, remember you are not responsible for taking care of them if they are upset by the news. Consider asking another family member or friend to call people you want to know if you can’t or don’t want to talk to them right now. If you need to be with family and friends, tell them so, if you need to be alone, be honest about that as well.

Gathering Information

If researching online is stressful or frightening, don’t do it at first….or delegate it to someone you trust. You will have plenty of time to learn more later.

Don’t Rush Into a Treatment Plan

In most cases, you will have several weeks or even months to make this decision. The only thing you really need to do initially is to make sure you have the next medical appointments set up….your next doctor’s visit, and ideally another visit for a second opinion. After these appointments you will have the information you need to make your treatment decisions.

Write down all your questions as you think of them, for your loved one’s doctor, insurance company, or employer. By writing these down you can release these from your mind until they are answered, and in the early stages of diagnosis, it’s very difficult to keep all of your thoughts straight.

Take Care of Yourself

Emotional stress is extremely exhausting. You will most likely feel very tired for the first few days. Nap, or at least lay down for awhile. Go to a movie or do some sedate activity. Continue to exercise if that’s part of your life, if not, just go for a walk. It will clear your head and make you feel better. Eat, even if you aren’t hungry. You have a journey ahead of you and you need to stay strong.

These first few days are often the worst as there is very little information to go on and the emotional impact is enormous. It’s important to remember that you won’t always feel like this.

Are There Really Alternative Cancer Treatments?

May 31st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in cancer

We constantly hear the word cancer, and it never fails to bring the chill whenever we do. In fact, cancer is one of the most terrifying verdicts a doctor can hand to a patient. Even just hearing the words chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery already gives us a big fright. Many people, for this reason, have not stopped searching for treatments other than these traditional techniques. But are there really alternative cancer treatments? Before answering this question, let’s have another look at what cancer really is.

Cancer is a disease that’s difficult to prognosticate and is often ravaging. The scenes of my uncle struggling as he was going through the pains and sufferings brought about by lung cancer (a result of his habitual excessive smoking) are still etched in my mind. The devastating effects of this dreaded disease have been shown over and over again in pictures of victims, in their sorry state, that include such well-known personalities as movie stars, athletes, politicians - all figures of prominence and power before the onslaught of cancer.

To a great extent, cancer is a disease that’s still conceived wrongly. It is, for one thing, not a single illness; it, in fact, comprises over a hundred various diseases, which can affect any of the body’s parts. However, all cancers share a common distinguishing quality: the uncontrolled progressive development and rapid production of abnormal cells. For a number of known and unknown reasons, certain cells become malignant or cancerous; they suddenly depart from their normal growth pattern and proliferate uncontrollably.

As the malignant cells increase, they form a lump, or what is known as a primary tumor. From this tumor, cancer cells invade nearby healthy tissues, move to other parts of the body (through the bloodstream or the lymphatic system), and assault tissues and organs far from the initial point of occurrence. Consequently, cancer cells push off and supplant normal cells. The severity of the disease, in general, is contingent on the extent to which malignant cells scatter and wear away normal body functions.

In spite of cancer’s ruinous potential, a verdict of cancer does not necessarily mean an outright death sentence. As a matter of fact, many cancers today can be cured. But this is true only if their presence or existence is determined early enough and treatment is promptly given. This makes one’s awareness to the early warning signs of cancer very important.

A co-worker of my wife has completely recovered from her breast cancer, thanks largely to her early detection of the disease and of certain alternative cancer treatments she used. The answer, therefore, to the question posed earlier here is, yes, there are alternative treatments for cancer. As a matter of fact, there are three hundred and fifty gentle and non-toxic natural cancer treatments that could help save the lives of cancer patients.

Is there really an alternative treatment for cancer? The answer is yes, and there are in fact three hundred and fifty gentle and non-toxic natural cancer treatments that could help save the lives of cancer patients. Visit Natural Cancer Treatments That Work at Alternative Treatment for Cancer.
